The 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Rebellion marked a significant date in LGBT history — but it also reminds us of the work that still needs to be done. In a world where the LGBTQIA+ community continues to fight to be free and justly recognized, how can we continue to push the movement forward, powered by hope, love, and courage?  Our task is to increase the awareness of LGBT heritage and diversity by proudly showcasing the historical figures and events that shaped the movement and has brought us to where we are today.

Challenge

The most critical step was assembling a team of diverse creatives and strategists to ensure we developed an empathetic narrative. More than a history lesson, the narrative was designed to present an expansive view into a world that continually deals with suppression and intolerance — and the many little breakthroughs that created a ripple of progress and change. Working with stakeholders who kept us in check around a sensitive subject area, we ensured that representation was depicted using a wide spectrum of color, vivid imagery, and thoughtful language.
